Posted: March 13th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: General | Tags: information, introduction | No Comments »This is the blog and website of “The Post Socialist Russian City” project organized by the platform Future Faculty. The Post Socialist Russian City project will be a collection of seminars and workshops that culminates in a trip to Moscow in July and round table discussion at the International Rotterdam Biennale 2009 .
The Post Socialist Russian City project involves students from the Architecture and Industrial Design Engineering faculties at the TU Delft as well as Russian design students and design companies in Russia and the Netherlands in an interdisciplinary discourse about design. The project is also open to international students and professionals who want to join.
This project will explore the contradictions and possibilities of new revitalization of prefab housing blocks built during the Soviet era, that are still in existence today in a post-Socialist Russia. A link will be made between similar prefab housing blocks in the Netherlands in workshops and seminars.
On this blog we present and discuss our thoughts, process, inspirations, and other relevant things. Please feel free to comment and contribute to our design process!
